Mosaic SG

6 January – 3 March 2026

Ariele Bacchetti, Bruno Fantelli & Nina Ćeranić

LOY Contemporary Art Gallery proudly presents Mosaic SG, a curated showcase of mixed media  paintings that brings together a new generation of Italian artists for their debut in Asia. Art in Italy is deeply rooted in the pages of Art History, from the Mosaics of the Ostrogoths to the spatialist canvasses of Fontana.

Presenting Ariele Bacchetti, Bruno Fantelli and Nina Ćeranić. Mosaic SG embodies the idea of unity through diversity — each artist contributing a unique perspective that together shapes a cohesive, resonant whole. With innate sensibility, our artists explore lyrical colours and refined textures  through  thoughtful, contemplative  compositions.  As  part  of Singapore Art Week 2026, this exhibition marks a milestone in cross-cultural artistic exchange — fostering deeper dialogue between Italy and Singapore through contemporary art.

“We are mosaics—pieces of light, love, history, stars—all glued together with magic and music and
words.”— Anita Krishnan

Inspired by the words of Anita Krishnan, Mosaic SG explores how individuality and collectivity coexist, thriving joyfully together in the artistic process. Each work represents a fragment of emotion, history, and imagination — much like Singapore’s own cultural landscape. The exhibition positions itself as a bridge between European and Asian contemporary art, both reflecting LOY Gallery’s ongoing mission to create meaningful platforms for international
artistic dialogue and demonstrating Italy’s finest contemporary art in Singapore.

Nina Ćeranić, Divano, 2022
Acrylic and oil on canvas
In Divano, Nina Ćeranić captures the delicate tension between intimacy and detachment through her depiction of domestic objects. The painting transforms an ordinary sofa into a stage — a familiar yet uncanny site where emotions unfold. “It is like an empty theatre,” Ćeranić explains, “where the viewer is void of judgment, yet awaiting a sign.” Each visible brushstroke and layer reveals the physical presence of the artist, inviting the viewer into a quiet dialogue about stillness, vulnerability, and perception.

Bruno Fantelli, Consumisti consumati, 2023
Mixed media on palette
(oil, acrylic, discarded materials)
Bruno Fantelli’s Consumisti consumati hurls a
discarded palette into living chaos, populated by a
hodgepodge of grotesque creatures. Merging
painting and sculpture, the work comments on
consumption, excess, and rebirth. Faces and forms
emerge from paint residues and stains, muddying
the line between creation and decay. Through this
act of regeneration, the artist overturns the object’s
original function, turning what was once waste into
a vibrant tableau of humanity. Bruno’s process
reflects a form of contemporary mosaic: a system
of connections in which every fragment retains its
individuality while contributing to a larger and more
fragile harmony. Fragments of color and matter
seem to breathe and vibrate, constantly searching
for balance between order and disorder.

Ariele Bacchetti, My Brother, the blacksmith (who knows, knows) , 2024
Carved wood, oil and coloured pencils
Ariele Bacchetti taps into the boundless territory of nature. His narratives revolve around the Italian province of Belluno, a protected area declared a World Heritage Site. In dark, rich, textured shades of blue, red, green, or purple, he depicts lush vegetation in which animals or people sometimes appear, apparitional and subtle. The paintings appear to be illuminated from the outside by an elusive, unknown light, lending them an ethereal density grounded in scenery. Instead of jolting fears of bitter ecocide,Bacchetti’s works push their viewers towards conserving nature, and all within it.
